Every game has a developer. This one still does, he just never left.

He built this world alone: the entities, the dungeons, the Intelligent species waiting in the dark at the bottom of it all. He never beat it. He died before he finished his own game, and something about dying inside your own creation doesn't let you leave, his spirit got pulled into the code instead, trapped alongside every enemy he never got to defeat.

Now he's the voice guiding you through it. Not a god, not a mentor with all the answers, a Soul haunting his own unfinished work, still trying to beat the game he built, using you to do it. Every dungeon you clear, every boss you drop, is a fight he lost once. 

Survive the hunger, the cold, the demons that never stopped coming. Grow strong enough to awaken powers even you can't see yet. Climb from nobody to hunter-rank legend. And somewhere down at the bottom of it all, help a dead man finally finish what he started.
